The Sims 4 is still seeing a spike in popularity. Even though the game was released back in September 2014, you’ll see that the game is still doing great for itself and the modding community is at a high. Recently, the game went a bit quiet in the news, only being shown to drop a few content packs in the past few months.
Right now, players can get The Sims 4 for free on Origins on both Mac and Windows PC. The free version of the game only includes the standard edition with no extra expansion packs or extra DLC. For those that want a little something extra, the digital deluxe edition of The Sims 4 is now on sale at $49.99.
If you want the free version, you can still have content added to the game by downloading mods, as Sims games are most popular when it comes to mods. The Sims 4 has one of the best character creator tools to this day, and the modding community continuously creates content for the game. You’d be able to find furniture, clothes, sims, homes, and more.
Fans upset about recent sale
This usually becomes an issue with many games in the industry today. Most times when a game has been out for some time, there will be a mega sale. Sometimes the expansion packs are added to the base game and sold for a much cheaper price than what original fans, or even new players paid right before the sale went live.
The best example of this has to be with Destiny and Destiny 2, as Bungie is famous for combining DLC for a cheaper price.
Fans of the Sims 4 were seen upset in social media comments asking for refunds and displaying the amount of money they actually paid for the game since its release. Welcome to the gaming industry.
Limited time warning
The sale will last up until May 28th. Anyone who downloaded the free version will still have access to the game after the promotion ends, so it’s best to get it while you can.
After the sale ends, pricing will go back to normal and the standard edition will cost its usual price, and the deluxe edition will follow the same pattern. Happy Simming!
